Any student who does not plan to attend the Pre-DOC is required to obtain an excused absense from their study abroad program manager in advance of the Pre-DOC. Only reasonale and compelling circumstances will result in an approved and excused absence for the Pre-DOC. Decisions regarding absences are made at the discretion of each study abroad program manager. Unexpected instances of illness or emergency on the day of the Pre-DOC should be reported and documented through study abroad program managers as well. If a student misses the Pre-DOC (in whole or part) for any reason, they are required to follow the steps below:
- Review Recordings & Materials: Students who do not attend the Pre-DOC for any reason are required to review online video/audio recordings of all Pre-DOC sessions prior to their departure for study abroad. Students who do not attend the Pre-DOC and fail to review these recordings and materials may be prevented from participating in study abroad.
- Confirm Your Review of Content: Once a student has reviewed the Pre-DOC materials, they must submit an online certification indicating that they have carefully reviewed these materials and discussed any questions with their study abroad program managers. This online certification form must be completed prior to the student's departure for study abroad.
